This is a beautiful rollercoaster, as optimistic, inspiring and grounding as it is haunting.
Broadcast Hysteria by A. Brad Schwartz
On October 30, 1938, Orson Welles’s radio program Mercury Theatre on the Air broadcast a radio play based on the H.G. Wells novel War of the Worlds. The original novel, set in 1890s England, told the story of a Martian invasion of Earth.

Wheaton Public Library’s 2023 Summer Reading Challenge: Find Your Voice begins Thursday, June 1! The challenge is open to all ages: Youth (birth to 5th grade), Teens (6th to 12th grade) and Adults (18 years and older), and will run from Thursday, June 1 – Monday, July 31. No library card required to participate.
