Meet Our Readers' Advisory Team: Tricia

Join us each month as we interview a Readers' Advisor at WPL so you can get to know the team a little better! This month we are featuring Business & Career Specialist, Tricia! Read on to see what book Tricia is currently rereading, the mystery series she loves to recommend, and more.

How long have you worked in libraries?

Almost 10 years

If you could have a conversation with a character from any book, who would you choose?

Maisie Dobbs for sure

What is the last book that you read?

The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill

What’s a book you often recommend?

For non-fiction, any Erik Larson books; For fiction, Remarkably Bright Creatures; Mystery, Maisie Dobbs, or Flavia de Luce series.

Do you reread books? If so, which one and how often?

I have read Devil in the White City by Erik Larson but am now listening to the audiobook. You get different things out of a book when listening vs reading it.

What tips do you have for someone who might be in a reading slump or trying to get back into reading?

Think about the shows you watch or the movies you like and try to find a book to match. Listening to an audiobook instead of reading words on a page can also be a fun experience.

How can patrons discover books that might be of interest to them?

Fill out our Book Match Form on the website. You will get a personalized list of books based on what you have told us. It is a fantastic way to discover a new series or author!

What resources do you personally utilize when looking for the next book you want to read?

ALA (American Library Association) magazine, NoveList Plus, and of course, my co-workers in Adult Services.
