
Library Card Sign-up Month
Stomp on over to the library to discover all the amazing things you can do with your library card! There is a whole new world to unlock just by picking up a book, attending a program, or exploring our digital resources. Here are just a few things you can unlock with your WPL card:
- Check out and place holds on books, eBooks, DVDs/Blu-rays, audiobooks, and more
- Access Tech2Go items like our Rokus, hotspots, cameras and projectors
- Borrow materials from other libraries via Interlibrary Loan
- Reserve a study room or meeting room
- Access databases remotely such as Consumer Reports, Mango Languages, Brainfuse, Creativebug, and Morningstar
- Read newspapers on your device at home
- Check out museum passes for discounts to Cantigny, Brookfield Zoo, children’s museums and more
- Business owners are eligible for WPL cards!
Ready to sign up? Residents who live within Wheaton city limits can register for a library card either online or in-person. Visit our Get a Library Card page or give us a call at (630) 868-7510 for additional information on how to get your library card. Sign up for your WPL card during the month of September and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a prize.

Scavenger Hunt
Friday, Sept. 1 - Saturday, Sept. 30 • in-person • all-ages
Adventure around downtown Wheaton to find secret code words located in the windows of local businesses! Visit any 12 of the participating businesses and record each word you find on your scavenger hunt sheet. Once completed, return your form to the library's Welcome Desk or submit the online form to be entered into a prize drawing. In partnership with the Downtown Wheaton Association.
Norm Exhibit

Stop by the Arts & Culture Center to visit Norm, a fiberglass T-Rex skull replica! On loan from The Harris Learning Collection of The Field Museum.
The Science of Jurassic Park
Monday, Oct. 2 • 7 pm • in-person • all ages
Biologist and fossil enthusiast Donald Baumgartner, M.S., will separate the scientific facts from Hollywood fiction. What was true? What was wrong? What action scenes just didn’t make sense? Registration required.

DIY Dino Terrariums

Mark Anderson Cartooning: Dinosaurs vs Robots 2

So you've drawn dinosaurs and robots before, have you? Well, not like this. More dangerous dinosaurs! More ridiculous robots! More perilous pencils! Registration required.
T-Rexplorers Family Program
Saturday, September 30 • 2 pm • in-person • families (geared for ages 5-12)
Get excited about science and nature with a T-Rexplorers program! See dinosaur bones up close and get a glimpse of what it's like to go on a Paleontological dig with authentic dinosaur fossils from species like Triceratops and T-Rex. You'll be greeted by Ranger the T-Rex as you come in! Registration required.
