The Vital Records Index includes birth, marriage and death notices printed in the Wheaton Illinoian newspaper from 1889 to 1893.
The spelling of names is as they appear in the newspaper. Items appearing more than once in the same issue or in more than one issue of a newspaper are included.
How to search
Quick Search: searches the text of all fields, including the notes.
Advanced Search: search by name, text, event; or combine to search by name for a single event, etc.
Information provided
Name: the primary person in the newspaper item
Event: birth, death or marriage
Place & Date: where and when the event occured
Length: the amount of information included in the newspaper item. Announcements are short, notices are medium length and articles are lengthy items.
Notes: the text of the announcement, notice or article. Often the entire announcement is here while only abstracts of notices and articles. For the complete text, refer to the microfilm.
