Very soon after 1500 DuPage citizens served in the Union army during the Civil War, the county was stricken by another north/south conflict right at home. For some years, the only important political question in DuPage was whether the county government would be in Naperville or Wheaton. Previous political affiliations and many friendships and affections were burnt up in the emotional intensity of this conflict. 2018 marks the 150th anniversary of the dispute. The story involved riots and claims of rigged elections. Presented by Bob Shuster of the Billy Graham Center Archives of Wheaton College.
