Critical Race Theory: Why is it Important and Why is it Under Attack

This presentation, led by Dr. Horace Hall and Dr. Kennedi Strickland-Dixon explores the historical basis and use of Critical Race Theory (CRT) past, past and future. Presenters examine the multiple tenets of CRT as a way of understanding how American racism has shaped public policy and why it has now become a divisive tool in pitting People of Color against White people in US society. It is hoped that viewers will develop a deeper understanding of CRT for the purpose of moving beyond the current political dispute surrounding it, as well as the anxiety this debate has created for parents, youth, educators and community members at large.
