See You Yesterday by Rachel Solomon is a YA rom com, Groundhog Day story. And it worked so well. Barrett is excited to begin her first day of college and leave her high school self behind. Unfortunately the day is mostly a disaster. It starts by being woken up by her new roommate, who happens to be her high school nemesis and goes down hill from there, culminating in her setting a house on fire. When she gets woken up on day two of college though she discovers that it's still day one for everyone else. Luckily (or unluckily) for her the cute know-it-all from her physics class, Miles, is has been stuck in this time loop for weeks already. The have wildly different ideas how to escape the time loop, but they may be exactly what the other one needs.
Solomon's book has the perfect amount of self reflection, hilarious hijinks, and a sweet reluctant partners-to friends-to lovers romance that made this an enjoyable read all the way through. Barrett is delightful and sometimes frustrating, but you're almost always cheering her on to figure out the time loop and herself.
