A Season for Second Chances by Jenny Bayliss

Get yourself a cup of coffee, a pastry, and get cozy while reading A Season for Second Chances by Jenny Bayliss. For fans of romance who like a cozy setting and delicious descriptions of food and drink, this book has all that and then some. Recently separated restauranteur Annie needs a fresh start (and a place to live) so she accepts a winter guardian position for a charming seaside house, owned by octogenarian Mari. The house is located in the historic and quirky town of Willow Bay where the residents all welcome her with open arms, except for John, Mari’s nephew, who wants Mari to sell the house and move somewhere more comfortable. Annie soon finds herself re-opening the dormant café attached to the house and hosting all kinds of holiday celebrations for the town, from Halloween to Christmas, while also becoming more attracted to John the more she gets to know him. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, especially one involving a very risqué book club meeting, and plenty of heartwarming moments as well. A great book to read during the holiday season (or listen to it like I did – the narrator did a great job with the various British accents)!
