Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb

If you love to read memoirs, you will love Maybe You Should Talk to Someone. Gottlieb does a wonderful job with making the topic of therapy fun, engaging, human and relatable. Who, at one time, does not wonder what goes through a therapist’s mind during a patient session? Better yet, wonder if a therapist ever needs a therapist? Readers will have fun learning the answers to those wonders in this witty and honest book. Gottlieb is an award winning author, columnist and therapist who finds that she herself needs therapy. She is struggling with a break-up that leaves her in a depressive state. She is challenged to find a therapist she can trust be open with because while she has the answers for those she works with, both her patients and her readers, she does not have the answers for herself. This book is full of humor, empathy and honesty. Its quick read and I could not put the book down from the time I started to the time I ended. I truly I felt like I gained a friend in Gottlieb and I was sad when the book ended and I had to say good-bye when I ended the last chapter.
