Just Like Mother by Anne Heltzel

Just Like Mother by Anne Heltzel is a disturbing, fast-paced modern gothic. Maeve's past comes back to haunt her when she reconnects with her beloved cousin, Andrea, for the first time since they were removed as children from the cult community that raised them. Maeve wonders if Andrea, now successful and wealthy as the head of a thriving company, is all that she seems given their shared traumatic past. Good suggestion for readers who don't mind themes of violence, autonomy/control, feminism and especially motherhood.
