Rating: 5/5
This is an extremely cute romance graphic novel series with beautiful art. This series has recently been adapted by Netflix. Charlie Spring was outed and heavily bullied his first year at Truham Grammar School for Boys. Entering year 10 Charlie is hopeful about the new year. Until he develops a crush on Nick Nelson, a year 11 in the rugby team, a possibly, maybe not, entirely straight cute boy.
The series is fun to read through, there are friendships, LGBTA+ characters, sibling dynamics and romance. Friendship plays a big role throughout this series and we can see it affect the actions of almost every character. The books discusses serious topics like eating disorders, self-harm, bullying and violence and has an open discussion on how the characters manage such topics. Overall, this series is amazing and I can’t wait to read more.
Trigger Warnings: Eating Disorders, Self-harm, Bullying, Violence
