Grit by Angela Duckworth

How does one achieve great success? Is it genius, talent or luck? Author Angela Duckworth contends that the magic, many times, is in grit. The 2016 bestseller, Grit: the power of passion and perseverance, tells the fascinating stories of West Point cadets and National spelling bee contestants, a football coach, writer and high-powered CEO. What do they all have in common? They work hard and practice diligently; they want to improve everyday. Duckworth includes chapters on talent, discovery, purpose and hope. The greatest of these is hope. Those that have hope, get back up. They fall 7 times and rise 8. She talks about culture and parenting and the art of never giving up.

Honestly, I was drawn to this title because of these pandemic days. I believe we can find strength that we did not know we had. Grit can help us do the hard things. Sometimes, that means just making it through the day. I highly recommend this book for insight and inspiration.
