Join us for this engaging discussion of A Fever in the Heartland: The Ku Klux Klan's Plot to Take Over America and the Woman Who Stopped Them by Timothy Egan (2023, 354 pages)

At their height in the 1920s, the Ku Klux Klan hated Blacks, Jews, Catholics and immigrants, and took radical steps to keep these people beneath them. The Klan’s leader was charismatic charlatan D.C. Stephenson. But at the peak of his influence, a seemingly powerless woman revealed his secret cruelties and finally brought the Klan to their knees.

The same title will be discussed via Zoom on February 24.
