Event Details

Join us for this engaging virtual discussion of Our Migrant Souls: A Meditation on Race and the Meanings and Myths of “Latino” by Héctor Tobar

Taking on the impacts of colonialism, public policy, immigration, media, and pop culture, Pulitzer-prize winner Tobar decodes the meaning of “Latino” as a racial and ethnic identity in the modern United States. He interweaves his own story and that of his parents’ migration from Guatemala into an account of his journey across the country to uncover something expansive, inspiring, true, and alive about the meaning of “Latino.”

In virtual discussions, you are expected to turn your mic and camera on.

The same title will be discussed in-person on September 30.
