Summer Reading Challenge 2022

Wheaton Public Library’s 2022 Summer Reading Challenge: Read Beyond the Beaten Path has now started! The challenge is open to all ages: Children (birth to 5th grade), Teens (6th to 12th grade) and Adults (18 years and older), and will run from Wednesday, June 1 – Sunday, July 31. All are welcome to participate, no library card required.

Starting Wednesday, June 1, participants can begin to earn points through reading, completing missions, and entering secret codes from the library's social media accounts. Children and teens can win prizes after earning 300, 600, and 1,000 points. After earning 1,000 points, children and teens will earn entry into a grand prize drawing. Teens will also have the chance to win prizes through weekly drawings.

Adults will have the opportunity to win Downtown Wheaton gift certificates through weekly drawings and three grand prize drawings. Adults must earn 1,000 points to be eligible for the grand prize drawings.

SRC participants can also pick up a free t-shirt at the library’s Youth Services or Adult Services Desks (while supplies last) beginning Monday, June 6. Everyone is welcome to wear their t-shirt during the library’s Summer Reading Kick-off Celebration on Saturday, June 11. All are invited to the library's West Plaza between 1 - 3:00 pm for a free ice cream treat and to enjoy the music and dance of the Barefoot Hawaiian, including a fire act.
