Join local author, educator and historian Glennette Tilley Turner for a retrospective of her children's books. She will discuss the importance of documentation and exposing young readers to the role of African-American history in the context of American history. Her goal is to enable readers to develop an awareness of contributions such as the invention of the stoplight, and a personal connection with historical individuals like Harriet Tubman.
